Dinny Goonan Family Estate Riesling 2005 scooped the Awards at the recent Federation Square Victorian Wine Regions Annual Awards taking out both the:
- Federation Square Judges Award as most outstanding wine, and
- People's Choice Award (White Wine category)
In a follow up article in 'The Age' Jeni Port wrote:
"Its downright exciting to see new Geelong makers such as Dinny Goonan sticking by Riesling and producing such stunning results. The 2005 Riesling is very light in colour but bright and lively in the glass with a floral-talc perfume and a gentle, spicy, citrus aromatic flavour."

Welcome to Dinny Goonan Family Estate, where you can taste and enjoy our wines at our relaxed and informal cellar door, situated in a picturesque vineyard setting and surrounded by a rural tranquility that is broken only by the chatter of the Crimson Rosellas and Blue Winged Grass parrots that have made the Estate their home.
Dinny Goonan Family Estate is a small family run winery and vineyard that was established in 1989. We are one of a handful of families pioneering viticulture and winemaking in the Otway area of southern Victoria.
Our focus is in the production of Shiraz and Riesling, with limited quantities of Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc available to cellar door customers only.
With an increase in production in recent years, our wines have begun to enjoy Wine Show success, winning the following awards:

Our Cellar Door is open between 11.00 am and 5.00pm on weekends and public holidays from November to April and every day in January.
We also offer vineyard platters that feature regional produce to compliment our wines and make the best coffee in the district.
