In April 2011 the wine buying team from Dan Murphy’s came to Geelong to select regional wines for its Geelong stores.  All the Geelong wineries were invited to submit their wines which were then assessed under Wine Show conditions to ensure the wines were judged fairly and accurately.

The Dinny Goonan Shiraz 2009 was judged the ‘definite winner’ in the 2009 Shiraz class, with the two Rieslings also doing very well:
