The Otways in a Glass!
The Name
Dinny

From time to time, visitors to the cellar door ask about the name Dinny Goonan, thinking it must be a "where" or a "what" – rather than a "who".

In fact, Goonan is an old Irish name; Dinny’s forebears came to Australia from County Clare in 1854 and settled originally in north-east Victoria.

With a clear preference for growing grapes rather than spuds, and making his own estate wines, it seemed logical for Dinny to put his own distinctive name on the label.
